Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI) is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes. It can be used to guide process improvement across a project, a division, or an entire organization. CMMI helps integrate traditionally separate organizational functions, set process improvement goals and priorities, provide guidance for quality processes, and provide a point of reference for appraising current processes. CMMI defines five levels which represent the maturity of software processes, from Level 1 (initial, processes are usually ad hoc and chaotic), to Level 5 (optimizing, organizational and continuous quantitative process optimization).
Since Novem’s adopting the methodology in 2006, CMMI has been playing an important role in every process of the business and management. Strictly following the theory of the CMMI, Novem has fully experienced the preparation, consultation and process definition, process piloting and deployment, pre-appraisal, and appraisal. CMMI 3 model has been applied all around in business analysis, software study, product QA, and project management. A standard management system has been established based on the combination of the specific needs at Novem and CMMI theories. As the result, CMMI will guarantee product quality and efficiency in all aspects such as management, technology, service and risk management.
